If you have anxiety and stress problems you probably should have heard about aromatherapy. But do you know what exactly is aromatherapy or which essential oils are the cure for your remedy? If you don’t, you can learn all the things you are wondering about aromatherapy in here.
Aromatherapy is the practice of inhaling the scent of essential oils to improve your health. It works because of your smell receptors in your nose. They send a message to your nervous system via smell receptors and your brain reacts to them. They also have a subtle effect on your body’s chemical energy system. But you shouldn’t forget that all of the essential oils are very different and your brain doesn’t react to all of them the same. And they don’t affect everybody in the same way because our brains are very different too. But some of the essential oils are effective on most people so they will probably work on you.
Before talking about essential oils there are a few things you need to know before you start to use them.
The first one is never to ingest any essential oil. Some people on the internet may say otherwise but do not trust them. There is not enough information and research about digesting essential oils and we don’t know which ones are can be toxic and bad for you. So, avoid that.
The second one is you always need to check what you are buying and be sure that they are safe because the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t regulate essential oils so you should avoid aromatic oils which consist of synthetic fragrances. Always be sure that your essential oils are therapeutic-grade.
The third one is, some essential oils are needed to be used with diluters. You can dilute your essential oil easily with a carrier oil. Carries oils can be vegetable-based. Some of the essential oils that need to be used with diluters are; clove bud, citronella, cumin, lemon verbena, oregano, bay and many others. Don’t forget to check this.
Lastly, don’t forget to make a patch test before you use them fully.
